Looking for a rainy day activity for your children this summer? Why not have them learn to write short stories?
Over the last few years, I’ve appeared in libraries and schools to show grammar school kids how to go about creating a short story. My appearances have always been geographically limited. Until now. Using a great website called Padlets, I’ve been able to reproduce the talk into a series of short videos and provide downloadable supporting material.
What this means is that kids anywhere can work up their own short story by following the videos. It works best with children in grades 4-7, but any age group can give it shot.
One important feature of the workshop: writing stories is fun!

There are no ads on the site and no log-ins are required.
I’d love to hear from you if your kids try this out.
